Licensing Questions

Question: Can I use my license for more than one person?
Answer: No

Each course or library is licensed for a single user; meaning that it can only be used by one individual. Our courses are not transferable nor are they resalable. Additional libraries or licenses can be purchased at a discounted price. Single User License details.

Question: Can the TestOut products be loaded on more than one computer?
Answer: Yes

Each course is licensed to one user, but for convenience can be loaded on up to three separate machines. Contact customer service if you need access through more computers.

Question: Is there an expiration date on TestOut products?
Answer: Yes

LabSim course licenses expire 3 years from the date of activation

Site License: Depending on the agreement, it comes with a 1-3 year license.

Question: Can I download my product once I have placed an order?
Answer: Yes

LabSim is now accessed online. This delivery method means you can have immediate access to your training without having to pay shipping and handling or waiting for your training to be shipped to you. Within minutes of your order, you can start your training. It’s as simple as that.

Question: How do updates work?
Answer:

Minor update changes or fixes to current versions are provided automatically via the LabSim update manager. Major updates or new versions will require new software in order for you to have the most up-to-date training. Please see our product guarantees for update eligibility.

Question: Do you have to be online to use TestOut products?
Answer: Yes and No

Each segment of a LabSim course downloads individually as you view it. For example, Section 1.1.1 in a course may be a video. To watch the video the first time, you will need an Internet connection. But after the first time, you can view and review the video without an Internet connection.

While you’re connected to the Internet and viewing the video in Section 1.1.1, content for the next section—1.1.2—begins downloading in the background so that it is ready as soon as you finish 1.1.1. Any course content that has been downloaded through an Internet connection is available for you to view without an Internet connection for 21 days.

Question: Why must I connect at least every 21 days?
Answer:

TestOut’s LabSim courses are available through online access, but once course content has been downloaded to your computer through an Internet connection, you can access it again for 21 days without an Internet connection. Connecting to the Internet every 21 days gives you access to LabSim’s reporting tools, user groups, and course updates.

If you haven't connected to the internet within 21 days, you will simply be prompted to connect upon your next LabSim login. For example, if it has been 30 days since you last used LabSim, when you login to LabSim, it will prompt you to establish an internet connection.

Question: Do I need to purchase any additional components to accompany the training?
Answer: No

The TestOut training provides complete course instruction, hands-on labs, and certification test prep questions; all of which provide you a complete training experience.

Question: How much time does it take to go through the training material?
Answer:

On average each course requires approximately 40-50 hours to complete. TestOut self-study courses allow each individual to learn at his or her own pace, as well as review or redo as often as needed.

Question: What is the recommended sequence to follow with your LabSim Library?
